Research: Ecology
The overall objective of my research is to develop our understanding of nutrient cycling and energy flow within ecosystems. Within this framework I study carbon and nitrogen dynamics in response to disturbances (such as fire) and changing land use (urbanization, agriculture, forestry). My research focuses on how such environmental changes affect carbon storage, nitrogen cycling, and the flux rates of the greenhouse gases: carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O).
I am very interested in collaborating with student researchers interested in conducting any sort of “ecological” research. Please contact me if you have questions or are interested.
