But what if you have a course already in Canvas that you want to reuse?&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Canvas makes it simple to transfer content from one section (or semester) to another using the <a href=\"https:\/\/community.canvaslms.com\/docs\/DOC-10713-67952724501\">Course Import Tool<\/a>. With this tool, you can transfer all of the content from a course, or you can <a href=\"https:\/\/community.canvaslms.com\/docs\/DOC-13101-4152497985\">pick and choose which pieces you want<\/a>. After you\u2019ve decided what content you want, you can opt to have Canvas <a href=\"https:\/\/community.canvaslms.com\/docs\/DOC-13099-4152497986\">shift your dates for you<\/a>. That\u2019s right. Canvas will update all your dates for the new semester. You should still use the Calendar to double-check the dates, but Canvas does the bulk of the heavy lifting for you.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To use the tool, go to the empty course where you want to add the content. Click on the \u201cimport\u201d button on the home page (or go to \u201csettings,\u201d then click \u201cImport course content.\u201d). From there, work through the steps described in Canvas\u2019 \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/community.canvaslms.com\/docs\/DOC-12935-415257077\">How do I copy content from another Canvas course using the Course Import Tool?<\/a>\u201d to bring over the content you need.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you run into snags or sticky spots as you\u2019re transferring your content, you can contact Canvas support!
