Everything has changed…again

Everything changed then changed again” – Tom Petty, “To Find A Friend”

So, you’ve been teaching remotely for a week because of COVID-19. You thought you were halfway through, and then you got the latest news: We’re doing this for the rest of the semester. (And if you’re hearing this for the first time…surprise?)

Whether you’re excited or apprehensive about the rest of the semester, know that you’re not alone. The CTL is here for you, and we’re going to help however we can. We’ll be adding to the Getting Started with Remote Learning course, and we’ll keep publishing posts here to help y’all as well.

With that said, we are planning lots of things that we hope will help you – posts on everything from evaluating how to do final exams remotely to explaining how students can still do group presentations to maintaining connections and relationships with your students.

But we also want to know what questions you have and what items you need advice with.

Were there items that you were saving for when students would be back so you could accomplish them face-to-face? Are there specific things that you still want to accomplish with your students, but you also want to talk them through with someone before you implement them?

We’re here to help with all those things and more. We’ve had many successful and helpful sessions with faculty during our Zoom drop-in meetings, and we’ll be continuing with them next week and on. If you have a specific instructional item you want to discuss, you can also email us at ctl@cedarville.edu to set up a specific meeting time or to just discuss it over email. If you have suggestions for topics that you’d like to see us cover on the blog, please send those over to ctl@cedarville.edu as well!

In the meantime, stay safe, stay well, and stay socially distant.
