Adjusting to the Unknown – Reminders You’re Not Alone

Reading Time: 2 minutes

With the adjustments and on-the-fly tweaks that have needed to be made over the past week, there’s no doubt that things are a bit hectic at the moment. And in times of great change, stress, and uncertainty, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed.

Because of that, we’re not going to do any kind of deep dive into Canvas features or look ahead to shiny new tools on the horizon. We’re going to stand alongside you and remind you of the resources and groups here to help and support.

Flexible Learning at CU Course

The Flexible Learning at CU course covers a lot of the basics for tweaking your course to fit well in a flexible format. Check it out for info on recording/streaming lectures, setting up online assignments, and using some of the newer classroom technologies.

Canvas Fellows

Have a Canvas question that you’re pretty sure could be answered quickly or you just want to ask a familiar person? Your department or school’s Canvas Fellow is the best place to start! They’ll be able to answer a lot of your questions about Canvas. If they don’t know the answer, they’ll be able to point you in the direction you need to go!

Canvas 24/7 Support

Now if you have a question and your Canvas Fellow isn’t available (say, it 10pm and you’re still working on something in a course), you have access to 24/7 support from Canvas. You can call them at x7905 option 1, or you can do a live text chat (link in the “Help” menu inside Canvas). And the best part? Students also have access to this resource, so you can point them in Canvas’ direction when they have questions about using various parts of Canvas!

CTL/IT Support

You may run into scenarios where you have questions that don’t fall into Canvas Support’s wheelhouse. If you have questions about educational strategies, the best tools to achieve a specific goal, or other questions about teaching/learning, please don’t hesitate to contact us in the CTL (ctl@cedarville.edu). If you have issues with logging in to Canvas or issues and questions related to classroom technology, contact IT (techhelp@cedarville.edu, x7905).

We want you to succeed and thrive through the midst of these adjustments, so please reach out and ask for help when you need it!
